Tax and Spend Democrats?
This is from my State Senator Al Volker’s Facebook page.
As the recession drags on in New York, lawmakers and state leaders look for ways to revitalize the economy. The tax and spend approach the Democrats took with last year’s budget, adding on over $13 billion in new tax and fee increases, will no longer serve. Senator Volker, who voted against this state budget, weighs in with his ideas on how to jump-start job growth and fiscal equity in New York.
It annoyed me. So I replied.
Dale, stop using the “Tax and Spend Democrats” rhetoric. It’s crap. Who drove up the national deficits? Reagan! and to benefit the wealthy. Who paid down that huge deficit? Clinton! A democrat! Democrats ended the century with a balanced budget. but who creates a war to tax and spend? A REPUBLICAN President.
This is endemic of all politicians to throw labels around without solving problems.
And please, don’t engage in what appears to be typical tax and spend REPUBLICAN behavior.
Is this the kind of tax and spend behavior he’s referring to?
