On the role of Microsoft Outlook in my ADD addled brain

This is some advice I shared with one my students who just graduated… I thought others might benefit.

Make sure, on your super duper mac book, that you have an organizer program, and USE IT. Better yet, if you can get a phone with an organizer that syncs to the computer. Put everything on that organizer or on the computer.

Without this, my life would be chaos during the school year. Reminders of when things are due, what I did… long term reminders… these are things that just fall by the wayside with my ADD. It’s a pain in the butt to put everything in, but you get used to it.

I always relate ADD to watching tv with an out-of-control remote. My Microsoft Outlook is my perpetual TV, but I can control the remote. What’s best, my life is on the TV, and now I can keep track of it.

This way, the computer and phone pester you, but you like your computer and phone because they have pretty pictures and play pretty music. So you will put up with pestering from them.

You are electronic man. Do this.
