The MoveOn Scolding and “Die-In” in Washington DC

It’s been a great week for the anti-war movement. Sort of.

James Walsh, the Republican congressman from the next district over from me came back from Iraq the week before General Petraeus attempted to placate the masses and said the place was a mess and we need to bring the troops home NOW.
This is a dramatic turnaround for Walsh. He must have listened to these people.

I wish Randy Kuhl (MY congressman) had the balls to do that.

The Senate shook a collective scorning finger at MoveOn.Org this week for their ad about General BetrayUs. I’m very psyched that, for the first time, I contributed to MoveOn to help them pay for the ad. Since the condemnation, MoveOn has received an avalanche of supportive e-mails, and record contributions. I’m proud to support MoveOn, and am glad a lot of people are giving the finger to the Senate rather than bow down and pay tribute to the masters of war.

And from bowing down, we go to laying down. Protestors in Washington DC on Thursday staged a creative “Die-In” at the Capitol Building. Funny, I didn’t see anything about it at all on the nightly news. No matter, Declaration of Peace has some great photos here and here.

This isn’t the best protest video I’ve seen, but look at the mugs of the Capitol gaurds and the steely determination of the Veterans for Peace.

Keep on Rockin’ in the free world!!!
