Is Big Brother Watching Me?
Since my wife is the Queen of the Internet Universe I get to see where a lot of my blog traffic comes from, along with a bunch of other information that looks impressive even though I have no idea what it means. One tidbit of information really gave me the creeps.
After I posted an article about the questionable fundraising tactics of Representatives Tom Reynolds (R-NY) and Tom Cole (R-OK). To make a long story short they’re giving away phony but impressive sounding awards to anyone who will donate a certain amount of money to the Republican National Congressional Committee.
Within a few hours of posting that blog I got some traffic from some unusual places. One was the Department of Defense’s division of Internet Fraud. Did certain words in the article somehow raise some eyebrows in the Department of Defense? Will the thought police start coming after me?
I also got some traffic from the House of Representatives. Although that’s not the first time it’s happen since I always rag on my Congressman, this is the fastest response I’ve ever gotten. Tom Reynolds isn’t even MY paranoid Congressman.
I hope I’m making a mountain out of a molehill. Perhaps there’s some bored lackey at the Department of Defense or House of Representatives who just stumbled on my humble website while trying to kill the remaining twenty minutes of their shift.
What happened when they logged on? Did their neo-con fight or flight instinct kick in momentarily? Did they recoil in horror and switch to another site fearing that looking my liberal blog would be akin to looking at a porn site? Are sites like mine and those in my blogroll seen as internet porn for closet liberals in neo-con clothing?
I guess even if it WAS Big Brother watching me, I’m more flattered than frightened. It means someone is paying attention to what I’m writing, and that I could be pissing off the people I most want to piss off.
COMMENT!
Do you think you’re being watched? Why?

I stumbled on this site from quintesenlkjfahls (sp?) rambling site. I don’t necessarily think I am being watched per se but there is some interesting spots on my clustr map. Can you tell me how to trace them?
