Last week Americans Against Escalation in Iraq staged still another protest in Bath, NY - the “back yard” of Representative Randy Kuhl. The protest was to call attention to Kuhl’s voting record on bills related to the Iraq war despite the predominant anti-war sentiment throughout the country.

Kuhl’s record shows unwavering support for President Bush’s destructive policies, and no support to the wishes of the American people or regard for the lives of American troops. In 2005, Kuhl voted against creating a select committee to investigate reconstruction efforts in Iraq and against holding oversight hearings regarding possible abuses of actions and policies related to the Iraq war. He voted YES on a measure supporting Bush’s policies and FOR the troop surge.

This year he’s voted against setting benchmarks for progress and even against reporting about those benchmarks. Twice this year he’s voted against bringing our troops home.

Keeping up the pressure on Randy Kuhl and reign of terror he’s supporting is crucial, and this event, and the picture taken above in front of his office in Bath, are all steps in the right direction.
